How long does the application process take?

We value your time, which is why we've streamlined our application process. In most cases, you can complete the application, receive a personalized quote, and purchase your policy in 3 minutes or less. Of course, feel free to take as much time as you need to review the product and make an informed decision.

How will I receive my policy documentation?

Once your policy is purchased, we will promptly send your policy contract and certificate of insurance to the email address you provided. You can rest easy knowing that your coverage is just a click away. And if you ever misplace it? No worries — just get in touch and we’ll get you a replacement copy.

Can I cancel my policy after it's issued?

We are committed to providing you with the best possible service. While we cannot accommodate customer cancellations after the policy is issued, we will do our best to accommodate cancellation requests made within the first 24 hours.

What is the deductible for a Once policy?

With Once, there are no surprises. Our policies never have a deductible, ensuring that you know exactly what you'll pay for your insurance and what you'll receive if your valuable is lost, damaged, or stolen. It's all part of our commitment to providing you with the most straightforward and stress-free insurance experience possible.

What if my valuable is worth more than the maximum coverage amount?

We understand that your valuable is truly precious. Currently, Once offers coverage up to $5,000. If your item is valued higher, you can still choose to insure it up to this limit. We're constantly working to expand our coverage options, so please let us know about your item through our Contact Us page, and we'll notify you as soon as higher coverage becomes available.

Is a Once policy the same as a warranty?

No, a Once policy is not a warranty. We do not insure or guarantee the quality of the product you've purchased, nor do we cover mechanical breakdowns or other product deficiencies. We protect your valuable against loss, damage, or theft caused by events beyond your control and the control of the manufacturer.

Can I insure multiple items under a single policy?

To ensure that each of your valuables gets the full coverage it deserves, each Once policy covers a single item. If you wish to insure multiple items, you can purchase separate policies for each one. Please note that we may limit the number of policies issued to an individual at our discretion.

Does my policy cover more than one loss event?

Your Once policy is designed to provide complete protection for your valuable. In the event that you need to file a claim, the policy will terminate upon payment of the claim. You will receive the full insured value, and the item will no longer be covered. This ensures that you receive the maximum benefit when you need it most.

Will my valuables be covered while I'm traveling?

Absolutely! Your valuables are meant to be enjoyed as you live your life fully. Whether you're at home or abroad, your Once policy has you covered. We simply ask that you refrain from wearing your valuables during extreme activities like skydiving or jet skiing. If you're planning on participating in these types of adventures, please ensure your valuables are stored safely.

What if I lose my policy certificate?

We understand that 5 years is a long time to keep track of an email. If you misplace your policy certificate, don't worry – your coverage remains intact. Simply reach out to us with your name and date of birth, and after verifying a few additional details, we'll email you a replacement certificate right away.

Who is eligible to purchase a Once policy?

We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to protect their most cherished possessions. As long as you're over 18, live in the USA, and have a valid address, you're eligible to purchase a Once policy. It's that simple!

Do I need to be a homeowner to purchase a Once policy?

Absolutely not! One of the many benefits of a Once policy is that it's completely standalone. Unlike many other valuable insurance options that are sold as add-ons to homeowner's policies, there is no requirement to be a homeowner to enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a Once policy.

Claims

What types of issues and claims does a Once policy cover?

Your Once policy is designed to provide comprehensive protection against theft, damage, and loss due to a wide range of causes. While most common scenarios are covered, there are some exclusions, such as wear and tear, purposeful damage by the owner, and mysterious disappearance. How much will I be paid for a claim?

At Once, we believe in total transparency. If you need to file a claim, you will receive the full stated value that you insured. No hidden fees, no complicated calculations. For example, if you insured a valuable at $2,500, you would receive a claim payment of $2,500.

Will claims be paid in cash or with a replacement item?

We understand that when you experience a loss, you need a quick and convenient solution. That's why all Once claim payments are made fully in cash, giving you the flexibility to decide how to best mend or replace your item.

What happens if I recover my valuable after filing a claim?

In the unlikely event that you recover your valuable after your claim has been paid, you can choose to either reimburse the claim amount or send us the recovered item.
